Monster Truck Driver Accused Of Intoxication Manslaughter In Strip Club Parking Lot
A custom monster truck was lifted so high that the driver, Eric Crutchfield, never saw the victim and did not know that he had hit the 23-year-old victim. Crutchfield told police that he did not know that he had hit someone until other witnesses stopped him in the parking lot.
Witnesses stated that the victim was walking through the parking lot and stepped in front of the truck just as the defendant put the truck in gear. The tires on the truck that rolled over the victim were over three feet tall.
The police became suspicious that the driver was intoxicated and performed a
blood test on the defendant. He had over twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. His bond was set at $200,000. He is charged with
Intoxication Manslaughter.
In Texas, Intoxication Manslaughter is second-degree felony. A second-degree felony has a range of punishment of two to twenty years with an optional fine not to exceed $10,000. The severity of these charges is obvious.
