NFL Wide Receiver Misses DWI Court Date
Because of a delayed flight from Los Angeles, Braylon Edwards a wide receiver of the New York Jets, missed his court date. Apparently, Edwards was in Los Angeles to workout with quarterback Mark Sanchez's the week before the trial setting. Edwards was arrested September 21 of last year and submitted to a breath test which showed he had a BAC at .16. He was subsequently arrested for DWI.
He was initially pulled over by the NYPD because the windows on his SUV were too dark. Edwards' defense attorney has filed several motions that attempt to suppress statements Edwards made during the arrest, the breath test results. There is also a dispute as too whether the stop on the basis of the window tint is admissible.
