Mother Charged With DWI After Crashing At School
Kelly R. Dixon, of Kansas City, was arrested afte she crashed her car in the St. Elizabeth School parking lot. She told police that she was trying to pick up her daughter from school. She stated that in the morning her divorce had been finalized and she was so uspet that she went to a bar after lunch to drink.
This is not her first DWI related offense. She was convicted of involunatary manslaughter (most like
intoxication manslaughter in Texas) in 1999, after she was driving intoxicated and crashed into a tree with her son in the car. Her son was in the front seat and he hit the dashboard. At the time, she was 0.25 (which is three times over the leagl limit in Texas). She was place on probation in 1999.
